Within the past years, the use of ICT is playing an important role in daily life and of course in education. The advancing development of hardware and software technology opens new ways to explore our world and science. In Science Education, ICT is used more and more to promote scientific learning processes in formal, non-formal and informal learning environments. Thus, a series of transformation processes can be observed in science education, focusing on improving the learning experience, increasing motivation and increasing cognitive learning outcomes or linking formal, non-formal and informal learning environments. Therefore, this special issue outlines best practice examples on transformation of science education with ICT.
