Issues of COVID-19-Omicron variant is included in this edition. We wished to avoid long descriptive sentence construction that would make information retrieval inefficient. The use of color was essential in making this book to facilitate quicker referencing and more accessible to the readers. We would like to create a single volume textbook based on the standard textbooks. Images within this book have been directly linked to the relevant text and placed on the facing page. We would like this book to provide as close as is possible a “ one-stop reference guide ” for medical students and post-graduate medical trainees, including public health officers. Nevertheless, our greater vision was for this book to become an invaluable tool for practicing medical consultants as well. Due to the limitations of space, not every detail or as many figures could be included as we would have liked. Nevertheless, we hope that we have achieved within the space limitations. Rather than collecting dust on a bookshelf at home, we hope that this textbook is well thumbed by medical students, post-graduate medical trainees, practicing medical consultants, and public health officers.
