Abstract
Burns is one of the leading cause of death. There is an increase in the basal metabolic rate for up-to two years after burns. This leads to increased nutritional demands which may not be completely achieved by enteral feeds. Hence these patients may require supplemental parenteral nutrition. Parenteral nutrition is traditionally given through central veins which may be associated with various complications and hence the modality of administering parenteral nutrition via peripheral line has been started. We would like to present our experience with supplemental peripheral parenteral nutrition [PPN] in management of patients with burns. Keywords:
