Abstract

Teaching youths how to land properly may sometimes be overlooked. It is important to minimize the risk of injury during the developmental stages by teaching the proper way to land in order to absorb the impact from landing. This article will first highlight some techniques that are commonly observed when landing and will then provide safer alternatives for such techniques. The article will also provide options for feedback (verbal and visual) and methods for progressing students and athletes as they refine their technique.
