<Abstract>This qualitative paper focuses on the objective of effectiveness, setbacks and gap of several food security programs in Bangladesh mainly on Care's Shouhardo II program and several Government programs. The paper used qualitative data of Midterm survey of Shouhardo II program specified on specific objective 1 which was on food security. FGDs were conducted among 124 participants of four livelihood categories of Shouhardo II program and the findings are programs has improved the food insecurity condition in a extent by providing a moderate livelihood to the beneficiaries by supporting from various level and government programs just work in emergency and periodic to save people from crisis.</Abstract>
