<abstract language="eng">The article suggests an overview of secondary education characteristics in Ukraine; role, place and goals of studying mathematics in a Ukrainian secondary school; types of educational establishments are highlighted; terms of pupils' study on each of the three basic stages are commented on.. Place and goal of studying mathematics at secondary school is discussed in the article. The results of senior pupils' educational success monitoring on mathematics are analyzed and the examples of tests are given.</abstract>
