Abstract

This work consists of the numerical study of a double-slope solar still coupled with a parabolic trough concentrator. The numerical study, using the fourth-order Runge Kutta method, allowed us to better understand the temperature changes of the still's various elements, namely the outer glass, the inner glass, the water, and the absorber as well as the changes in the still's operating characteristics, such as productivity, performance and the overall and internal efficiency of the device. April 17 was chosen as the simulation day using Matlab software. On this day, the absorber reached a maximum temperature of 112°C, and the maximum productivity was 3.9610 kg/m²h under a maximum irradiance of 925 W/m² for a still whose absorption surface area is less than 1 m².
