Abstract

Questions about life and death will always be among the major issues people have to answer both collectively and individually. Such a re-assessment essentially also needs to address ethnic diversity, because different belief systems and norms of behaviour will affect people’s views of euthanasia. 120 Respondents from the three major ethnic groupings in South Africa were drawn and were asked to complete a basic demographic questionnaire and the Euthanasia Attitude Scale. This study found no statistically significant differences between the opinions of people from different ethnic backgrounds.
