In this paper, two of the vital mining railcar components have been designed. In this paper, a comparison has also made with current and proposed manufacturing process. Furthermore, Value stream mapping (VSM) has been analyzed through wagon and coupler manufacturing process and it has been shown that 15 % non-value adding time and 20 % labor can save though implementing the VSM methodology. Moreover, the proposed wagon body design has been proposed to save 30% unloading time. Additionally, proposed simplified coupler design can save 18% manufacturing cost.
