    <abstract language="eng">Within this article we present the synthesis of coin metal nanoparticles and nanoporous surfaces by cathodic corrosion as school experiments. We further present two experiments utilizing the obtained materials as catalysts; the catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and the platinum catalyzed chemiluminescence of lucigenin.</abstract>
