    <abstract language="eng">Solid lipid nanoparticles are at the forefront of the rapidly developing field of nanotechnology with several potential applications in drug delivery, clinical medicine, and research, as well as in other varied sciences. This review presents a broad treatment of solid lipid nanoparticles discussing their aims, production procedures, advantages, limitations and their possible remedies. This review presents a broad treatment of solid lipid nanoparticles discussing preparation method, characterization, route of administration of SLNs, generally carried out. Aspects of SLN route of administration and the invivo fate of the carriers are also discussed.</abstract>
