As the first step of the investigation an opinion survey combined with multi-criteria analysis of road safety experts has been carried out. In the second phase of the research, based on the results of the expert evaluation a cluster analysis has been provided to order ITS applications into clusters. Finally, based on the results of the two phase method the paper defines the effective ITS applications from a road safety point of view.
