abstract={In this paper, a deterministic inventory model is investigated for deteriorating items in which the demand is time quadratic and shortages are allowed and partially backlogged. The backlogging rate is assumed to be dependent on the length of the waiting time for the next replenishment. The longer the waiting time is, the smaller the backlogging rate would be. The deterioration rate is assumed to be constant.},
