abstract={The possible identification of an arrow of time with the dynamical evolution of the world, based on the laws of physics and without recourse to the flow of entropy, is investigated. It is concluded that when, in addition to their declarative semantics, the laws of physics are considered in the context of their overall goal, namely, describing the dynamical evolution of the world, a direction of time becomes apparent.},
