This article presents a case report of a maxillary first molar that had two separate palatal roots with distinct canals and also an invitro assessment of an extracted tooth which had a a similar root canal morphology using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Both of them highlight the importance of knowing the anatomical variations to achieve a functional and biological favourable outcome in endodontic treatment.
