abstract={The study focused on the menace of examination malpractice in Nigerian educational institutions and it's implications for national productivity and economy. Examination malpractice is a cankerworm that is posing a serious problem in the Nigerian educational system. The paper not only defined the concept of examination malpractice but also identified the types or forms, the causes or reasons, the effects as well as the ways to eradicate it. This paper also explicates the implications of examination malpractice on national productivity and economy which are majorly negative. Based on the implications, recommendations, were made which inter alia include: proper counselling of students, intensified public enlightenment campaigns, strict interviews to be conducted for candidates seeking admission into schools and applicants seeking employment, emphasis should be on practical performance in lieu of reliance on certificates (paper qualifications).},
