Computer Assisted language teaching (CALT) is a new trend in the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Based on the theory of CALT, this paper makes a detailed investigation and analysis of the present situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
