abstract={Teaching a suitable listening strategy is really important to English majors. Thanks to the effective strategy, it helps students improve their listening skills as well as become interested in English. This study aims to find out studentsĄŻ use of metacognitive listening strategy at Nong Lam University ¨C Ho Chi Minh City (NLU). Mixed methods research design was employed and both qualitative and quantitative data were collected in this study. Ninety students from three classes participated in this study. They were divided into the experimental group and control group. Listening pre- and post-tests was used for data collection. The study found that most students used metacognitive strategy when they listened. The study also made several recommendations for both teachers and students.},
