    <abstract language="eng">The perennial scarcity of water supply in Awka has been a concern to its inhabitants. This is because of the complete absence of urban water supply system for the town. Consequently, shallow wells, vending, as well as rainwater harvesting are the major sources of water supply. This study examines how rainwater harvesting can be sustained to ensure the steady water supply to households in Awka. Data were collected from questionnaire and NIMET, and were analysed through statistical methods. Result shows that rainwater potential in the town amounts to 24, 658,000 litres enough for the annual household water needs.</abstract>
