<abstract language="eng">In this paper, we applied He's variational iteration method (VIM) to solve nonlinear porous media equations. The main advantage of this method is the flexibility to give approximate solutions to nonlinear problems without linearization or discretization. The results show that this method is simple and effective.</abstract>
