Hole-drilling method is one of the most spread methods used for determination of residual stresses and it is regarded as a semi-destructive method. Accuracy of this method depends on the knowledge of calibrating coefficients, which are dependent on geometry of strain gage rosette. These coefficients we can evaluate by FEM. The aim of this work is to verify that the function proposed in the standard ASTM E837 is suitable for the approximation of strains released around drilled hole, at the non-uniform residual stresses.
