Diagnosis is made with clinical or radiographic evidence of internal jugular vein (IJV) thrombosis, along with metastatic focus such as lungs or joints. Life threatening thrombocytopenia in Lemierre¡¯s syndrome in the absence of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is rarely reported.
