It is usually seen in middle aged and elderly females. Its diagnosis is not always easy because it is rare and has not specific signs and symptoms. The risk of development of thyroid lymphoma is higher after Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The most common form of thyroid lymphoma is diffuse large B cell lymphoma. Patients may present with obstructive symptoms due to progressive growth of mass.
