abstract={Simultaneous access to electricity and drinking water remains a major challenge in rural areas of Benin. This work proposes the design of an integrated system combining solar and hydropower to effectively meet the energy and water needs of a typical community of 10,000 inhabitants. The methodology adopted is based on needs assessment, equipment sizing (solar panels, pump, tank, turbine, and alternator), and a techno-economic feasibility study. The results obtained demonstrate the feasibility of a system capable of producing an average of 1,976.98 kWh per day and supplying 2,668.88 m3 of water, thus guaranteeing energy and water self-sufficiency for rural populations. This innovative solution highlights the importance of an integrated approach to address the challenges of the energy transition and universal access to basic services in Benin.},
