    <Abstract>An attempt is made to design and develop a low cost, simple but efficient instrument to measure the decay time of luminescence in phosphors used in displays. The approach employed here is generally an embedded system designed around an intelligent microcontroller Atmega-16 of Atmale. The system is using a time domain technique of measurement and is further enhanced by developing necessary software for online-offline analysis.</Abstract>
