abstract={Microplastic pollution is a new emerging problem to our generation, with lack of proper disposal and tones of production. Every year tones of plastic is disposed in the water bodies and which gets weathered and results in the production of microplastics, which when ingested by aquatic organisms leads to their mortality and many serious issues. The microplastics are good adsorbents and absorb all the chemical and metals in the water causing mortality in fishes. They also act as pathogen carriers and lead to the water born diseases. Our review study finds that there is a need to evaluate the effects on the fresh water organisms as the literature on fresh water is scarce.},
