abstract={UV-B radiation can improve the quality of medicinal plants such as <i>Mimosa pudica</i> L by increasing the production of phenol, alkaloids, saponin and other secondary bioactive compounds. Qualitative analysis of these compounds using TLC revealed high concentrations of these components, with higher production in plants exposed to UVB radiation. The synthesis of these phytochemical compounds correlates with the antioxidant potential and increased FRAP activity. The antibacterial effect induced by UVB radiation is effective against pathogenic microorganisms such as <i>Proteus vulgaris, Staphylococcus epidermidis</i> and <i>Bacillus subtilis</i>, but less effective against <i>Salmonella typhi.</i> The long-term goal is to explore the potential applications of these improved bioactive chemicals in pharmaceutical research and development.},
