Optical materials are generally characterized by the emission of radiation with energy beyond thermal equilibrium. Emission in optical materials can occur as a result of many different kinds of excitation, which is reflected in expressions such as photo-, electro-, chemi-, thermo-, sono-, etc. Thus, these optical materials can be used in many areas such as technology in lasers, optical glass, fiber optics, masers, radar detection devices, lamps, computer memory, high temperature superconductors, electronics, renewable energy, manufacturing, and medical science. Therefore, it is very important and necessary to investigate the properties for optical materials by various spectroscopic techniques. We invite researchers to contribute original research articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the origin of experimental results and develop new devices.
