The special issue on Advances In Data Mining And Knowledge Discovery is focused on publishing original technical papers in both the research and practice of data mining and knowledge discovery, surveys and tutorials of important areas and techniques, and detailed descriptions of significant applications. This perspective acknowledges the inter-disciplinary nature of research in data mining and knowledge discovery. This issue will help scientists, engineers to discuss the innovative research work taken up in the field of data mining. Inter-disciplinary research consisting of application of data mining and knowledge discovery is also appreciated in this issue.
