Special Issue Information

Throughout the years, English language teaching has witnessed colossal changes. Students have been burdened with numerous activities, homework, grammar rules, memorization...Etc. Such activities, homework, grammar rules and memorization could not reach the goal which is to enable the students to communicate in English efficiently. Moreover, as teachers and educators we need to adopt new teaching techniques in line with the endless changes in every part of life. The students of today are not same as the students of yesterday in many different ways. The core point is how to turn the traditional teaching methods into modernized appealing methods that attract the learners. New trends and methodologies have been adopted to help both teachers and the students to reach that purpose. Thus, new era of English language teaching has shown up above the horizon. Everything changes, why not the traditional teaching methods change since we are witnessing tremendous change in all aspects of life. Many researches and books have been published to remove or loosen the restrictions of the traditional methods of teaching and to produce fully competent English knowing bilinguals rather than imitating of native speakers. It does not mean that to become native speakers of English language since we are already native speakers of our own, but it means to focus on English language as a means of communication not as an end itself. To think about English language as a means of knowing and learning other sciences or learning mathematics, biology, physics or any other technical subject.
