Special Issue Information

Antimicrobial research is playing a pivotal role in combating antibiotics resistance. Emergence of multidrug resistance among pathogens have posed a serious global threat. Discovery of new antimicrobial agents and novel antimicrobial strategy needs to be improvised to neutralize these notorious superbugs. In this special issue, we seek to promote antimicrobial research. We will accept studies related to discovery of antimicrobial compounds (antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal and antiviral). This special issue will focus on extraction, isolation, characterization, and biological activity, mechanisms of action of biologically active substances from natural source or via chemical synthesis. Characterization of antimicrobial extracts from natural source is especially encouraged. Novel physical or biological screening assay of antimicrobial activity. Understanding the mechanism of antibiotic resistance of antibiotics or related bioactive agents. This special issue will provide a special platform for microbiologist, pharmacologist, biotechnologist and chemist to communicate their research with scientific community.
